Q: Tell us about your college career and what the recruiting/scouting process was like. Why did you choose (Enter school name)?

A: My recruiting process kind of sucked. I only had two offers coming out of high school. The reason I chose Shaw was because when I went on my visit the coaching staff made me feel like family and I was comfortable being there, it felt like home. It was a small school which was perfect coming from a small town and I wouldn’t have to deal with being overwhelmed like at a bigger school.

Q: What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your sports career so far?

A: My biggest accomplishment in my career would be winning CIAA Defensive player of the year and also competing at a high level when I was doubted.

Q: What do you consider to be one of the more important things you learned from the coaching staff while playing at (Enter school name)?

A: While at Shaw the most important thing I learned to become a leader on and off the field. I have always been a leader on the field when playing, but when it came to college it was on a bigger level and helping my whole defense and team. I fell into this role early on at Shaw in my Sophmore year and never looked back.

Q: What was your major and what are your plans if football doesn’t work out?

A: I majored in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice. If my football career doesn’t work out I was planning to do Highway patrol for two years and then try to join the FBI academy to become an FBI agent.

Q: What would your current/past teammates say about you and your qualities?

A: That I’m a hardworking, aggressive player and a leader. And that I take football serious.

Q: What has been one of the most memorable plays of your career at any level?

A: I would say when I hurdled the running back my junior year and still got a sack.

Q: What has been your biggest challenge and how do you manage it?

A: My biggest challenge would be wanting to transfer my freshmen year because I wasn’t used to losing so much. Somehow my high school coach found out I wanted to leave and gave me a call. His exact words were “you can’t run from the challenge you have to face it head on, challenges are not easy and you are there to help change a program around.” Ever since that day I have never thought about transferring again and every time a challenge comes up that’s the first thing I think of.

Q: Who was the best player you played against during your collegiate career?

A: I would say the running back from Virginia Union Jada Byers.

Q: If you could compare yourself to a pro athlete, who would that be and why?

A: Luke Kuechly because we both are sideline to sideline type of players and when it comes to football it’s always a business trip.

Q: What is your biggest strength that you bring to a professional team and why should pro scouts consider you?

A: My biggest strength is being able to play sideline to sideline at a fast paste. I believe pro scouts should consider me because I am a big time run stopper and I’m able to chase plays down.

Q: Are you involved in mentoring, a charity or do you “give back” or ”pay it forward” in your community?

A: I’m not currently, but I have thought about giving back to my community where I grew up.

Q: What do you enjoy doing when not playing football?

A: I enjoy spending time with my family because if it wasn’t for them I probably wouldn’t be in this situation without their support.

Q: If you could make a positive impact on all of society what would it be and why?

A: I would teach younger kids the importance of doing right because the outcome for it can be so much better than you picking the wrong path to go down.

Q: Who is or has been the most influential person in your life?

A: My parents and wife because they always have my back and push me to do better.

Q: What is something unique about you that people would find interesting?

A: I used to race go karts when I was younger and for a long time I wanted to become a NASCAR driver.

Q: If you had the opportunity to play another sport professionally, what sport would you choose?

A: Baseball

Q: What is your dream job?

A: Playing the the NFL.
