Q: How did you get started playing football?
- I started at the age of 9 playing tackle football
Q: What separates you from all the other athletes trying to become a professional?
- Ball is my passion. I play to win, doesn’t matter to me what other athletes have in mind.
Q: Tell us about your college choice, career and what the recruiting process was like.
- I chose southeastern because I didn’t play my senior year in high school and I wanted to be close to home. I had the option to go to a big school like UCF or Florida and maybe walk on, but my grandma came on a visit with me to SEU and she loved it so we picked SEU. I feel like God lead me to Southeastern to be honest.
Q: What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your sports career so far?
- My biggest accomplishment is setting the school record for total interceptions (9).
Q: What do you consider to be one of the more important things you learned from the coaching staff?
- Something that has stuck with me is the words of my first college D-coordinator (Richie Marsh). He preached that you have to be aggressive every play. You must dominate every play, even at practice. It’s become an everyday thing for me to go out and strive to dominate each and every day.
Q: What is/was your biggest challenge and how do/did you manage it?
- My biggest problem was breaking my own standards. Although I may feel like I am playing at a high level I can always be better. And that’s what makes me the athlete I am today. I am never content with my success because I know there is always room to be better.
Q: What is your biggest strength or X factor that you bring to a professional team?
- I may be one of the fastest defensive backs in the country, with great technique and a will to learn. I’m a quick learner and can be an asset to any defense at any level. (Special teams as well)
Q: Who is or has been the most influential person in your life?
- The most influential person is my mom, I love her. And my Dad he’s always been there.
Q: What are your goals with football? If football does not work out, then what?
- my goals are to continue to compete and win no matter what competition I face. The NFL is my destination, how soon I get there is up to God.
Q: How did you prepare for the National Scouting Combine and what are your expectations?
- I’ve been taking my game and my speed to another level. I expect to stand out completely and put my talents on display for those that take the time out to watch me.
Q: What would be your ultimate achievement?
- Being an NFL championship and All-Pro player.
Q: If you have to compare yourself to a current pro player, who would it be and why?
- Tyrann Mathieu (5’9 – 186 lbs) – Because he was a standout corner who can also play safety). We’re both playmakers.
