Ali Abassi | Woodbridge High School | TE/DE | 2021

Q: Tell us about your high school career and what the recruiting process has been like thus far.

A: it’s been great, I still haven’t had any offers yet.

Q: When did you receive your first offer and what school was it from? How many offers have you received thus far?

A: Not yet but hopefully this year

Q: What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your sports career so far?

A: pancaking people twice my size and mossing D1 Db’s

Q: What do you consider to be one of the more important things you learned from the coaching staff while playing at your school?

A: how to be a great player on the field and how to be a great man off the field

Q: What have you learned during this unique time in 2020? What did you focus on or accomplish during Quarantine?

A: I’ve been perfecting my craft. Every single thing I can think of I’ve been working on it till it became perfection

Q: If you could play in college, what would you choose to major in? What are your plans if football doesn’t work out?

A: I’d major in business and I can’t think like that but if it did (hopefully not) I’d run a business

Q: What would your current teammates say about you and your qualities?

A: They would say I’m very energetic, positive, reliable, and a beast

Q: What has been one of the most memorable plays of your career so far?

A: “Mossing” a D1 DB one handed

Q: What has been your biggest challenge and how do you manage it?

A: Not making varsity my 9th and 10th grade year and I kept on pushing myself to be great. Dominating and outworking my opponents

Q: If you could compare yourself to a collegiate or pro athlete, who would that be and why?

A: Juju Smith Schuester because he matches my energy and Rob Gronkowski because of the way he plays

Q: What is your biggest strength and why should college coaches & scouts consider you?

A: my biggest strength is always getting the job done no matter the circumstance and they should consider because I’ll do whatever it takes for us (as a team) to win a championship

Q: Are you involved in mentoring, a charity or do you “give back”/”pay it forward” in your community?

A: I’m not involved in a program but I’d love to be in one. I help out young football players that come to my field and perfect their craft and make them love the game of football

Q: How are you preparing for the 2020 High School National Scouting Combine and what are your goals for the combine?

A: I’ve been training nonstop mentally and physically and hopefully dominate every single player there

Q: What would be your ultimate achievement?

A: Getting a full ride D1 scholarship, make it to the NFL and help out my family and the ones who are less fortunate

Q: What do you enjoy doing when not playing football? Do you play other sports?

A: I enjoy playing video games as any teenager, i also do wrestling and track

Q: Who is or has been the most influential person in your life?

A: My mom, she’s been through lots of struggles in her life but still came out on top

Q: What is something unique about you that people would find interesting?

A: That I’m always positive no matter what the situation is
