Evan DeBoard | Loudoun County High School | DB | 2021

Q: Tell us about your high school career and what the recruiting process has been like thus far.

A: There hasn’t been one time I haven’t enjoyed playing high school football. Recruiting has been great and its very positive for my teammates and I to help with motivation.

Q: When did you receive your first offer and what school was it from? How many offers have you received thus far?

A: My first offer was Glenville State University. They offered me a spot on the team on April 19th, 2020. I have two of other offers from Trine College and Carthage College.

Q: What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your sports career so far?

A: Just getting to where I am today. I am a solid varsity athlete and have made great relationships with my teammates.

Q: What do you consider to be one of the more important things you learned from the coaching staff while playing at your school?

A: Although we haven’t been working with each other for long, my coaches are doing a fantastic job to make sure that we are all okay. They have all really shown that they have our backs.

Q: What have you learned during this unique time in 2020? What did you focus on or accomplish during Quarantine?

A: 2020 has done a good job teaching me discipline and focusing on my main goal which is making sure that my team comes out on top this year. This could be some of our last years playing and we just want to make the best of it.

Q: If you could play in college, what would you choose to major in? What are your plans if football doesn’t work out?

A: I’m hoping to go to a military school and serve as an officer when my football career  is over. If I do not go to a military school i would like to study geospatial science.

Q: What would your current teammates say about you and your qualities?

A: They would say that I am a leader and that we are one big family. We will always have each other’s backs.

Q: What has been one of the most memorable plays of your career so far?

A: It’s always a fantastic feeling to be in the tunnel before and run out on to the field to see our amazing fanbase. We are always ready to put on a show for them.

Q: What has been your biggest challenge and how do you manage it?

A: Not being able to go into the gym and spend time with my teammates has definitely been a struggle. That is where we come together as a team and work together, it really makes a difference not being able to have that.

Q: If you could compare yourself to a collegiate or pro athlete, who would that be and why?

A: I have always been very a physical football player ever since youth league. One of my favorite player was Troy Polamalu and I feel they my game kind of reminds me of his.

Q: What is your biggest strength and why should college coaches & scouts consider you?

A: I am a leader on and off the field. I have a very good size advantage and I am very aggressive. I take care of business in the classroom and give it my everything when i hit the field.

Q: Are you involved in mentoring, a charity or do you “give back”/”pay it forward” in your community?

A: Due to Covid-19, I haven’t been able to but i want to apply for a spot at a dog shelter.

Q: How are you preparing for the 2020 High School National Scouting Combine and what are your goals for the combine?

A: I have been working out and focusing on my foot work.

Q: What would be your ultimate achievement?

A: To show coaches that I have the speed and agility to hang with anyone.

Q: What do you enjoy doing when not playing football? Do you play other sports?

A: I like to fish for large mouth bass, play basketball with friends, and play xbox.

Q: Who is or has been the most influential person in your life?

A: My parents have always been there for me. They are my superheros and have always been there for me no matter what.

Q: What is something unique about you that people would find interesting?

A: I am a very happy person and love conversation! Feel free to talk anytime.
