Naples, FL – February 6 – The National Scouting Combine is proud to announce its exciting partnership with USA Bobsled & Skeleton (USABS), the official national governing body for the sports of bobsled and skeleton in the United States. As part of this collaboration, USABS will be scouting top athletes at the 2025 National Scouting Combine, searching for individuals with the speed, power, and explosiveness required to compete at the highest levels of winter sports.
Headquartered in Lake Placid, NY, USABS is dedicated to identifying and developing world-class talent, supporting athletes through recruitment, training, and competitive development. The organization plays a crucial role in preparing athletes for national and international success, serving as the American representative for the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation and operating under the charter of the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee.
The National Scouting Combine has always been about giving athletes a platform to take their careers to the next level, said Jimmy Kibble, CEO and Founder of the Beyond Sports Network Foundation and the National Scouting Combine. Partnering with USABS allows us to extend that opportunity beyond football, helping athletes explore new ways to showcase their power, explosiveness, and competitive drive. We’re excited to see some of our top-performing athletes potentially transition into elite winter sports.
USABS has a rich history of developing Olympic-level talent, and one of the best examples of this is Curt Tomasevicz, Director of Sport Performance for USABS and a 2010 Olympic gold medalist in bobsled. Tomasevicz, who started in the sport in 2004 after his college football career, understands firsthand how athletes from explosive sports like football can excel in bobsled and skeleton.
The skill sets we look for in bobsled- speed, strength, and explosive power ”align perfectly with the abilities of football players, said Tomasevicz. Many of the best bobsledders come from backgrounds in football, track and field, and other power-based sports. The National Scouting Combine is a great place for us to evaluate athletes who have the potential to transition into international competition.”
Now entering its 14th year, the National Scouting Combine continues to evolve as a premier platform for identifying top collegiate and free-agent football talent. As the Official Combine Partner of AF1 and the X-League, the event provides a highly competitive and professionally structured environment where athletes can showcase their skills in front of professional coaches, scouts, and industry leaders.
Recognized as one of the most respected scouting events in the country, behind only the NFL Combine, Senior Bowl, and Shrine Bowl, the National Scouting Combine provides a unique, data-driven evaluation of each athlete’s abilities. This year’s event, held at the Paradise Coast Sports Complex in Naples, Florida, from February 5-8, 2025, will give participants an unprecedented opportunity to be scouted not only for professional football but also for a potential future in Olympic winter sports.
