National Scouting Combine Internship Program

The National Scouting Combine (NSC) offers year-round internship opportunities for driven individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the sports industry. Since 2012, our internship program has helped motivated interns build real-world skills, professional networks, and competitive portfolios while working alongside leaders in athlete evaluation and exposure.

Interns play an active role in the NSC ecosystem, with opportunities that may include:

Scouting and evaluating athletes for next-level playing opportunities
Marketing and brand development, where creativity and strategic thinking are encouraged

“When trying to figure out how I could get my foot into the door even more with scouting, I stumbled across Mr. Kibble on LinkedIn at the beginning of 2020 while I was interning with the Jacksonville Jaguars in Ticket Sales/Member Experience. “I interned with Beyond Sports Network during my sophomore year at Coastal Carolina University. Back then I was just a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed want-to-be journalist not really thinking about the doors that BSN would eventually open for me. I was able to interview and share countless stories of aspiring professional athletes and handled BSN’s Twitter account. Again, I didn’t fully grasp that this would help me in the long run and that it was truly the turning point of my journalistic career. My published work on BSN’s website was the start of my writing portfolio. After my BSN internship, I landed another at Fox Sports Radio in LA working on Rob Parker and Chris Broussard’s show and even made some Tweets for Colin Cowherd’s Twitter account. By my senior year of college, I was sideline reporting for ESPN 3 and received a shout-out from Sam Ponder of NFL Countdown following my first live broadcast. Today, I am an NFL journalist for Heavy Inc. covering the Atlanta Falcons and a co-host for an online sports betting show. However, I wouldn’t be here without Jimmy Kibble and Beyond Sports Network for being the first to give me a shot at chasing a childhood dream of mine.”

The National Scouting Combine scouting internship was an awesome experience! It showed me how the scouting process works from start to finish. You get hands-on experience evaluating talent while working with the NSC team to select players for the event. I think I learned a lot about what a prototypical prospect looks like and what stats matter in evaluation. Going to Indy in-person was a great culmination of the internship. Helping with set-up and video plus networking with both players and NSC staff was a great time! 10/10 would recommend for anyone interested in scouting!
