Grant Miglicco Reunites with the National Scouting Combine After NFL and UFL Success
When Grant Miglicco first arrived at the National Scouting Combine in 2023, he was an ambitious intern eager to learn, observe, and immerse himself in the world of athlete evaluation. Today, he returns to Naples as a former NFL staff member, UFL Champion, and rising young coach with a résumé that reflects dedication, humility, and rapid growth within the sport.
His career path embodies what the National Scouting Combine represents: opportunity, development, and the belief that one experience can set a young coach or athlete on a trajectory toward greatness.
A Return to Where It All Started
For Grant, coming back to the Combine is both meaningful and motivating.
“I’m just very thankful for the opportunity to work the National Scouting Combine again this year,” Miglicco shared. “I learned a lot from my experience here, and this combine played a huge part in my desire to play college football after working as a student coach at Texas A&M.”
What began as an internship ultimately played a foundational role in shaping his coaching and football future.
From Texas A&M to the NFL to UFL Champion
Since his early days at the NSC, Grant’s progression has been impressive:
- Texas A&M – Worked as a student coach within one of the premier SEC programs
- Cleveland Browns – Served as part of the NFL scouting operation
- DC Defenders (UFL) – Contributed to a championship-winning season
Each stop provided valuable lessons about preparation, structure, and the inner workings of elite football organizations.
“Seeing how great organizations operate was huge for me,” he said. “Drawing up plays and scout cards made me learn each player’s responsibility more deeply than just reading the playbook.”
And at the Combine, he learned something equally important: how much knowledge can be gained simply by being around veterans of the game.
“Anytime you get around coaches who have been around the game longer than you, you’re bound to learn something if you listen and take notes,” Miglicco said.
Bringing His Professional Experience Back to Naples
Now returning to the 2026 National Scouting Combine as a coach, Grant brings with him the insight of someone who has evaluated talent across multiple levels of the sport — from elite college programs to the NFL to the UFL.
He hopes to share clarity and guidance with athletes at the Combine, especially those pursuing professional opportunities.
“Players shouldn’t have a certain-league-or-bust mentality,” he said. “Any time you get to put on the pads and play this game, it’s a blessing.”
He also offers a grounded perspective on combines themselves:
“Most players won’t be drafted or signed just off their numbers. The combine should serve as an opportunity to land somewhere and get film to move up.”
For many athletes, that mindset shift can be the key that opens the next door.
What Professional Coaches Really Value
With experience spanning multiple leagues, Grant emphasizes that coaches at every level want the same foundational traits.
“Coaches want someone who will do their exact assignment and is a high-character guy,” he explained. “Plenty of athletes look the part, but if they don’t execute or don’t elevate their teammates, they won’t make it past training camp.”
Talent gets attention.
Character and reliability earn opportunities.
Looking Forward to the 2026 NSC
Now a seasoned professional coach and champion, Miglicco is ready to step back onto the field where his journey began — this time to help the next generation.
“I’m most excited about seeing which prospects will take their game to the next level and earn a life-changing opportunity for themselves.”
From intern… to NFL… to UFL champion… to returning coach — Grant Miglicco’s story is a blueprint for what the National Scouting Combine can spark.
And in 2026, he’s coming back to help others chase the same kind of breakthrough.
