Q: Tell us about your college career and what the recruiting process was like.

A: I’ve studied at North-West University in Potchefstroom, South Africa. The Lord told me to start playing NFL and that’s how I discovered BSN. I made a professional video and trusted in the Lord that the right people will see it.

Q: What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your sports career so far?

A: That I’ve been invited to attend the NSC in America, but also I’ve played rugby at the HSBC sevens tournament in Dubai in 2018 for the Rams.

Q: What do you consider to be one of the more important things you learned from the coaching staff while playing?

A: In rugby I’ve learned that you can have a lot of talent, but teammates and team spirit make the game. You can be as good as you want, but I’ve you don’t depend on your team mates and use them you’ll never enjoy the game. Team spirit makes any sport worth it.

Q: What was your major and what are your plans if football doesn’t work out?

A: I’ve just done my Bcom Industrial psychology and labour relations management degree. If football doesn’t work out, honestly I would just try again with a different approach, because the Lord told me to go for the NFL and I’ll be stupid to stop trying if I fail.

Q: What would your current/past teammates say about you and your qualities?

A: I’ve always been a team player. I’ve always given everybody a bit of sunshine. Sometimes I may have been wrong, because we practiced a play and then during the game another gap opened and I would change the route to the other gap, and it worked, but some teamates didn’t like it.

Q: What has been one of the most memorable plays of your career at any level?

A: My hat-trick tries against a school much larger then ours during a rugby tournament. The moment the blitzboks of South Africa watched us play in Dubai.

Q: What has been your biggest challenge and how do you manage it?

A: Self-doubt. Mostly by praying and trusting in God, but sometimes I manage my self-doubt through action. By forcing myself into something that I’m scared to do for example: forcing myself to believe that I can achieve NFL.

Q: If you could compare yourself to a pro athlete, who would that be and why?

A: Faf de Klerk from the Springboks, because I’m also very small compared to other guys, but a heart of a lion. You’ll try to run over me and you will be disappointed in your efforts.

Q: What is your biggest strength that you bring to a professional team and why should pro scouts consider you?

A: My explosiveness and my ability to see a gap. I’m a quick learner and I think with professional training I can become a pro athlete. I have the skills. My rugby background gives me an advantage over most guys, because of the way rugby works on terms of footwork and leg drives.

Q: Are you involved in mentoring, a charity or do you “give back”/”pay it forward” in your community?

A: I’m not involved in any charity because I’m still studying, but I help where I can and who I can.

Q: How are you preparing for the 2020 National Scouting Combine and what are your goals?

A: Insane training and nutrition. I was gyming for a long while, but I changed my approach to crossfit, because I think I would benefit more from having a strong and conditioned body overall. My goals for NSC 2020 is to be seen by scouts or coaches and to receive a contract from a university or team so that I can stay in America to chase my dream.

Q: What would be your ultimate achievement?

A: To receive a full contract from the Seattle Seahawks as the #1 RB for the team.

Q: What do you enjoy doing when not playing football?

A: Crossfit, because I love training and being active. Reading I’m currently reading The Simalarins from J.R.R Tolkien. Spending time with my family, because we are very close.

Q: Who is or has been the most influential person in your life?

A: Inky Johnson. No doubt. His story and all his inspirational videos really touches my heart every time I watch and it would an honor to meet him. But if I have to think about people around me it would have to be my girlfriend Talita for the simple reason that every time I doubt myself she picks me up and makes me keep going.

Q: What is something unique about you that people would find interesting?

A: I’ve never played NFL before in my life. There is no football in South Africa.
