Q: Tell us about your college career and what the recruiting process was like. Why did you choose Rowan University (list your school)?

A:  I started out at a juco in Trenton, NJ and after my second season I was starting to be recruited by different colleges. I chose to play at Shepherd University in West Virginia. I made it through camp and even beat out upper classmen for the starting position and was named the only freshmen to the traveling team, however, due to financial reasons I was unable to continue my career at Shepherd. I decided to play locally at Rowan University for the rest of my college career.

Q: What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your sports career so far?

A:  My greatest accomplishment in my college football career would be that I made the starting position as a freshman at Shepherd University and I was the only freshmen named to be traveling with the team. This was a huge accomplishment for me because I had never played football in high school so to be able to come out to a DII nationally ranked team and accomplish these things was such an exciting moment for me.

Q: What do you consider to be one of the more important things you learned from the coaching staff while playing at Rowan University ( list your school)?

A:  One of the most important things the coaches at Rowan taught me is how to not fold when you are pushed to the limit both mentally and physically. Also, how to play through anger and how to have controlled aggression.

Q: What was your major and what are your plans if football doesn’t work out?

A:  My major was exercise science. If football doesn’t work out, I still plan to continue my college career. I would like to be a strength and conditioning coach in a sports facility.

Q: What would your current/past teammates say about you and your qualities?

A:  My past teammates would say the I have grown a lot mentally since my freshmen year. They would also say that I understand my role and the importance of completing my assignment on the field. My current teammates would say that I am a natural born leader and that I look like a created Madden player.

Q: What has been one of the most memorable plays of your career at any level?

A:  My most memorable play was going against number 8 ranked Wesley College. At homecoming, we were up 28-27 in the final minutes of the 4thquarter. On the last play on their drive, it was third and 6 and they had to pass. The wide receiver ran a crossing route and at the line I looked over and saw that he was looking in the middle of the field to see who was there. When the ball was hiked I got off the ball really well, pushed my guy back, but then I saw the wide receiver in my peripheral cut behind me so I locked my eyes on the quarterbacks arm to try and block the ball but his eyes looked away and then to the crossing route. As soon as he looked to the crossing route, I blocked the pass.

Q: What has been your biggest challenge and how do you manage it?

A:  My biggest challenge was coming to play juco in New Jersey. After excelling at a football camp at Hampton University I was told to go up to New Jersey to play at this juco so that I could get my grades up and come back to Hampton to play DI football. When I went to NJ to play football, I only had a little bit of money. I had to stretch that money to be able to pay for transportation to and from practice, food, and other things. Most days all I had to eat was a sandwich from a convenience store. I specifically remember the game the we played against Army. All I had eaten that day was gummy worms, but I still played as hard as I could. I easily could have quit and just went home but I didn’t let that stop me. I wanted to do everything I could to play football no matter the cost. Not only did I barely have any food, but I found out later that year that all of the coaches from Hampton were fired so I had to work even harder to get teams to recruit me. I kept pushing because I know what I am capable of and that no obstacle is too large for me to defeat.

Q: If you could compare yourself to a pro athlete, who would that be and why?

A:  I would compare myself to Damarcus Ware because of his length, speed, and strength. I model my game after his because we have the same measurables when it comes to having long legs, long arms, and being quick and explosive.

Q: What is your biggest strength that you bring to a professional team and why should pro scouts consider you?

A:  My biggest strength that I bring to a team is that I am a perfectionist and I am calm under pressure. Pro scouts should consider me not only for my speed and size but also my drive and my ability to be coachable.

Q: Are you involved in mentoring, a charity or do you “give back”/”pay it forward” in your community?

A:  I volunteered with my teammates at the Boys and Girls Club. I helped mentor some of the kids there. We talked about what Christmas meant to them and we helped the kids choose their gifts. Also, as a team every year we went out to the highway to clean trash to help build character and team bonding.

Q: How are you preparing for the 2020 National Scouting Combine and what are your goals?

A:  I am working out four days a week, including lifting, running, drills, and practicing the three phases of the 40. One of my goals is to run a 4.6 or below in the 40-yard dash. My other goal is to prove to scouts that they need me on their team.

Q: What would be your ultimate achievement?

A:  My ultimate achievement would be to play more than 5 years in the NFL.

Q: What do you enjoy doing when not playing football?

A:  When I am not playing football, I enjoy playing video games, reading, and playing with my German Shepherd Brutus.

Q: Who is or has been the most influential person in your life?

A:  Myself. The things that I have been through and the things that I have overcome inspire me to be a better person every day. I know that if I can make it through situations in the past, I can overcome anything. I look at the things that I have accomplished, and I continue to push myself to be greater than I was before.

Q: What is something unique about you that people would find interesting?

A:  Being 6-foot 5 inches people always assume that I am good at basketball but in reality, I am terrible at basketball.
