Charles Brooks III

Q: Tell us about your college (or pro) career and what the recruiting/scouting process was like. Why did you choose (NORTH PARK)?

A: Throughout my college career, I was able to achieve numerous amounts of accolades. I went from NAIA TO DIVISION 3 my last year. Didn’t get a chance to play because of the COVID situation and didn’t want to put my family in jeopardy. I attended NORTH PARK University on the north side of Chicago, Illinois. I was able to achieve all conference, all American, most valuable new comer, MVP, as well as defensive lineman of the year twice. The scouting process has been a great experience with getting feedback from former NFL PLAYERS and trainers.

Q: What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your sports career so far?

A:  My biggest accomplishment would have to be winning my first conference ring and heading to the playoffs in college for the first time in college my junior year. Being able to play in that game meant a lot because it was a home game with a packed crowd with my family being in the stands. And we were also victorious.

Q: What do you consider to be one of the more important things you learned from the coaching staff while playing at (NORTH PARK)?

A: I would have to say to just live in the moment and how everything is not given always earned. Hold your teammates accountable because you all are working for the bigger goal which is to win a national championship.

Q: How was your career impacted due to the 2020 pandemic and what have you learned from the adversity?

A: Our season was shortened to the spring and that was my senior year. I didn’t want to hold off my dreams of playing on the next level, I felt it was time for me to compete  for the NFL, CFL, or XFL.

Q: What was your major and what are your plans if football doesn’t work out?

A: My major is Psychology, and I plan to work with inner city youth looking for a change or different path in life and to let them know its never too late to change their visions and that their dreams are always their to become true.

My IQ is my biggest strength. Scouts should want a player who is able to see a difference on the field that will impact a game in a positive way. My motor never stops and scouts will see that on film that I never quit and can create a turnover in a hot second.

Q: What would your current/past teammates say about you and your qualities?

A: They would all say im a “silent killer”. Im very humble but my game will always speaks for itself in between the white lines. I play the game with passion and how I play every down like its my last. Team player willing to make sacrifices to win. Also, UNDERRATED!

Q: What has been one of the most memorable plays of your career at any level?

A:  The most memorable play would be have to be against Grand View my Freshman year. The center snapped the ball and fumbled it. I picked the ball up for a 40 yard gain to give our offense back the possession.

Q: What has been your biggest challenge and how do you manage it?

A: My biggest challenge was overcoming knee surgery. I also lost close family members around that time as well. That was my first major injury I ever had in my sports life. The whole rehab process took a toll on me, but then again it made my love for the game stronger. The grind just to get back to your normal self is not easy at all. You work hard for the things you want to succeed in. I was projected to come back from injury in 9 months and did it in 6. I did countless of rehab workouts at home to come back stronger and make sure that my knee is as stable as ever. Now im 100000000 percent back to normal and more explosive and powerful than I ever was before.

Q: If you could compare yourself to a pro athlete, who would that be and why?

A: I would compare myself to Jerome Bettis and Aaron Donald. I am able to punish opposing opponents offensively and defensively. I have the truck power of Bettis and with the all around play of Donald with quick hands, feet with power.

Q: What is your biggest strength that you bring to a professional team and why should pro scouts consider you?

A:  My IQ is my biggest strength. Scouts should want a player who is able to see a difference on the field that will impact a game in a positive way. My motor never stops and scouts will see that on film that I never quit and can create a turnover in a hot second.

Q: Are you involved in mentoring, a charity or do you “give back” or ”pay it forward” in your community?

A: I took part in my teams Student Counsel. Giving players advices on life situations along side mentoring younger adolescents back at home.

Q: How are you preparing for the 2021 National Scouting Combine and what are your goals?

A:  I currently train with Jeff Jenkins of SuperiorEdgeTraining out in Buckeye, Arizona.

Q: What would be your ultimate achievement?

A: To sign a NFL contract

Q: What do you enjoy doing when not playing football?

A: I enjoy training younger children with football drills, working out, and spending time with my family

Q: If you could make a positive impact on all of society what would it be and why?

A: I want to make a change for those dealing with mental health, I feel like those individuals dealing with that aren’t heard of enough and don’t have a lot of string voices for that part of our society.

Q: Who is or has been the most influential person in your life?

A: My grandfather, showed me the way on numerous occasions in life.

Q: What is something unique about you that people would find interesting?

A: I like to write poetry

Q: What is your dream job?

A: To play in the NFL!
