How’d you end up at your current school? What was the recruiting process like?

I came out of high school as a 3x All Conference/All Region player, 3 star Defensive Lineman. Elon was my first D1 offer after my plans with Duke fell through. I had a few other D2 offers for Football and Track but I felt I was a D1 talent and chose Elon.

What gives you an advantage over other athletes at Defensive Line?

I take pride in stopping the run and pass rushing second. Everyone wants to pass rush but nobody wants to do the dirty work in stopping the run game.

What does being a student of a game mean to you?

Being will to learn and grow within your game. Not only learning what is taught but researching and studying to game to find ways in which to elevate yours.

How does being a defensive lineman reflect itself in your personal life?

Being a defensive lineman is one of the toughest positions in football physically and mentally. You always have an obstacle, sometimes even tel or three, in front of you and you have to be on top of your game to be successful and create opportunities, not only for yourself but the man beside you. In life there are obstacles you have to find a way to get over and I believe defensive line teaches and prepares for that outside of football.

How would you describe your work ethic?

A great work ethic is necessary to be successful in this game. I love to compete and will compete with anyone that I believe is working harder than me. No matter what sport I want to be the best and will work to get there.

What do you consider to be one of the more important things you learned from the coaching staff?

No matter what we are given and no matter what’s happening, at the end of the day the job has to get done. It’s an  unspoken concept that I have gained from the coaches I’ve had over the years.

What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your sports career so far?

Building and leading my team this past year as a captain to being one of the best Elon football teams in history with national and conference rankings, ranked wins, and undefeated at home competitions . Always been the person to speak up and push the bar for my brothers and I was able to see the outcome!

How did you hear about the National Scouting Combine?

Elon Alumnus, Charlie Chandler

Why did you choose the National Scouting Combine?

I understand that this opportunity will allow me to showcase my talents against some of the best competition in my life. Not only will this possibly open opportunities for me but it will also give me a grasp of where I stand amongst other good competition.

What do you hope to show people at the combine?

My attitude and ability to break expectations. I believe i’ve always been overlooked after the season but never during and not enough people have seen what I am capable of.

What was your Major?

Sports Management, Business, Sales, and Leadership Minors

Who is or has been the most influential person in your life?

My mother. True definition of “bend never break”.

If not football, then what?

Giving back my knowledge to the youth. Providing the youth with the knowledge I wish I had at their age through coaching and training.

If you could make a positive impact on all of society what would it be and why?

I would choose a city in each state which the highest rate of homeless citizens and give these people a job and/or rehabilitation for whatever they may need it for. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone has to learn from them but nobody has to die because of them.

What is something unique about you that people would find interesting?

I have the highest trap bar deadlift at Elon University with 815lbs.

If you had the opportunity to play another sport professionally, what sport would you choose?

-Track & field, shot put & discus.

Are you involved in mentoring, a charity or do you “give back” or ”pay it forward” in your community?

Being a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., I am constantly giving back to the community with yearly blood drives at local high schools, fish fry to raise money shelters, canned food drives for holidays give backs, and many other charities and events to give back to the community.
