Name: Arthur King
School: University of St. Francis (IL)

Q: How did you get started playing football?

I was introduced to the game by my friends who played little league. I grew up only running track but my friends explained to me that the advantage of speed would lead to success in football so I gave it a try and loved it ever since.

Q: What separates you from all the other athletes trying to become a professional?

I believe my ability to be coachable and adapt to any situation I’m placed in gives me an advantage. More often than not, people are placed in positions that aren’t familiar with or did not expect so I look to make the best out of any opportunity placed in front of me.

Q: Tell us about your college choice, career and what the recruiting process was like.

I loved the recruiting process. I felt like the cool guy on my high school campus when scouts would come pull me out of class just to have a conversation with me. I chose my university because I enjoyed the culture, it truly felt like a family. They also offered my major.

Q: What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your sports career so far?

My biggest accomplishment would probably either be earning unanimous first team all-conference honors or being voted as my team’s captain.

Q: What do you consider to be one of the more important things you learned from the coaching staff?

My coach always stressed to my team that whatever you do in life always respect yourself and represent yourself in a first class manner.

Q: What is/was your biggest challenge and how do/did you manage it?

One of my biggest challenges was being able to manage the newly lifestyle of being a collegiate athlete. This was accomplished by actually managing my time well and doing things of priority first.

Q: What is your biggest strength or X factor that you bring to a professional team?

My X factor would probably be my speed and IQ. Nowadays in the NFL, cornerbacks have the tough task of trying to keep up with fast/explosive receivers and my speed allows me to do so. My high IQ of the game allows me to understand concepts and relatable things most teams try to fool me with.

Q: Who is or has been the most influential person in your life?

Most influential person would have to be my mom. As a kid growing up she showed me perseverance and a sense of never giving up even if things aren’t going in your favor.

Q: What are your goals with football? If football does not work out, then what?

My goal with football is to possibly be on a professional team. If football does not work out, I plan to use my degree and get into the transportation/logistics industry.

Q: How did you prepare for the National Scouting Combine and what are your expectations?

In the off season, I joined forces with my school’s strength and conditioning coach and we developed a plan that we felt as if would put me in a good position to be successful at the combine. My expectations are to be top 10 in all events.

Q: What would be your ultimate achievement?

Being on the active roster on a NFL team.

Q: If you have to compare yourself to a current pro player, who would it be and why?

I would compare myself to Jalen Ramsey. Long, fast, explosive corner who’s not afraid to be a little physical.
