Sean Baker | Centreville High School | LB/DE/TE | 2021

Q: Tell us about your high school career and what the recruiting process has been like thus far.

A: Started off my career playing defense, which I love, Junior year played TE and made first team all Concord District and second team all Northern Region. This year I will be back on defense and hoping to play some on offense as well.

Q: When did you receive your first offer and what school was it from? How many offers have you received thus far?

A: Last week I visited Randolph-Macon and was offered an opportunity to further my education there and have a roster spot. With no camps, combines or contact this Spring and Summer have not been what I was hoping for but I am still working hard and preparing for my opportunities.

Q: What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your sports career so far?

A: The recognition I received last season as a tight end after never playing the position before is my biggest accomplishment so far. I have been working hard to gain strength and improve so I feel my biggest accomplishments are still ahead of me.

Q: What do you consider to be one of the more important things you learned from the coaching staff while playing at your school?

A: You can always find ways to improve yourself no matter what it is you are doing.

Q: What have you learned during this unique time in 2020? What did you focus on or accomplish during Quarantine?

A: The Quarantine has made it easier to lift weights and I have gained a lot of strength and over 30 lbs.

Q: If you could play in college, what would you choose to major in? What are your plans if football doesn’t work out?

A: I am interested in journalism and sports marketing. I am confident that I will keep working hard and make football work out. I will not quit; all I need is the opportunity to show what I can do.

Q: What would your current teammates say about you and your qualities?

A: They say that I am a hard worker and a team first, character guy.

Q: What has been one of the most memorable plays of your career so far?

A: Playing DE against Oakton I had a one-handed pick 6 for 45 yards.

Q: What has been your biggest challenge and how do you manage it?

A: The Quarantine has been my biggest challenge. I’ve always dreamed of playing college football and not being able to show college coaches what an asset I will be to them is frustrating. Not knowing if we will get to play our senior year is extremely difficult. I manage it by lifting and working hard and being ready when I get the chance.

Q: If you could compare yourself to a collegiate or pro athlete, who would that be and why?

A: Being a Redskin fan, Ryan Kerrigan is one of my favorite players. I have always looked up to him and continue to work hard to be an impact, edge rusher like him.

Q: What is your biggest strength and why should college coaches & scouts consider you?

A: My athleticism is my biggest strength but my work ethic and team-first mentality makes me an asset to any team.

Q: Are you involved in mentoring, a charity or do you “give back”/”pay it forward” in your community?

A: I always try to be a good leader/mentor to the underclassmen on my team.

Q: How are you preparing for the 2020 High School National Scouting Combine and what are your goals for the combine?

A: I’ve been lifting weights and staying in shape. I am looking forward to finally being able to show what I can do on the field and get noticed by college coaches.

Q: What would be your ultimate achievement?

A: My dream has always been to earn my way through college with a football scholarship.

Q: What do you enjoy doing when not playing football? Do you play other sports?

A: I love playing basketball. I gave up competitive basketball to concentrate on football.

Q: Who is or has been the most influential person in your life?

A: My parents are the most influential people in my life.

Q: What is something unique about you that people would find interesting?

A: I love movies and I know a lot of movie lines.
