National Scouting Combine Coach Spotlight

Anthony Prevost | Specialists Coach & Offensive Coordinator

The National Scouting Combine prides itself on assembling a coaching staff that blends real-world

experience, proven development, and a genuine commitment to athlete growth. Few coaches embody that combination better than Anthony Prevost, whose journey as both an elite specialist and dedicated mentor continues to shape the next generation of football talent.

Prevost’s approach to coaching is rooted in experience at every level of the game. As a former All-American kicker and current professional free agent, he leads with understanding before expectation.

“My playing experience allows me to lead my teaching with understanding before expectation. I’m able to provide each trainee with the fundamental tools and routine processes to create their success, continuously develop on their own, and minimize their shortcomings throughout their career.”

That mindset has translated directly to results at the collegiate level. During his time coaching at Virginia Union University and Virginia State University, Prevost’s specialists consistently ranked among the top performers in the CIAA, earning conference honors and national recognition.

“Natural ability will only take you so far, where a consistent checklist of fundamentals will always give you your best chance at success. You can’t finish the puzzle without all the pieces.”

As the founder of Superior Specialists, Prevost has built a training platform dedicated to the fundamental development of kickers, punters, long snappers, and holders at every level of the game. His individualized training model focuses on mental preparation, repeatable processes, and confidence in evaluation-based environments like the National Scouting Combine.

“A lot of my training is structured around charting and evaluation-based platforms. Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready.”

Prevost understands the unique pressure specialists face when opportunities are limited. He encourages athletes to treat Combine week as a professional interview and to rely on their preparation.

“Think of your time at the Combine as an extended interview for your next job opportunity. Breathe, smile, enjoy the moment, and do what you came here to do.”

Still actively connected to the professional game as a player, Prevost brings a current and informed perspective to athlete evaluation, helping identify professional-caliber talent while also guiding those

who may need additional development.

Looking ahead to the 2026 National Scouting Combine in Naples, Florida, Prevost says the

relationships and impact matter most.

“I want every athlete to leave the National Scouting Combine with at least one thing that influences their development as a person first and player second. To my specialists—channel the experience, take your notes, and don’t overthink it. You’ve got one play to learn and

perfect. Breathe.”
