Q: Tell us about your high school career and what the recruiting process has been like thus far.
A: I played JV football freshman year. That was my first time playing WR. Sophomore year I was pulled up to varsity and spent that year developing as a WR and a TE. Junior year I grew and started at TE/WR and at DE. Recruiting wise, I started focusing on my recruitment around March of this year. I’ve been talking with numerous D3 schools such as Johns Hopkins, Stevenson, Grove City College, Rose-Hulman, and a couple others.
Q: When did you receive your first offer and what school was it from? How many offers have you received thus far?
A: I received my first offer May 18th from Rose-Hulman. So far I have received 2 offers.
Q: What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your sports career so far?
A: Being pulled up to varsity sophomore year.
Q: What do you consider to be one of the more important things you learned from the coaching staff while playing at your school?
A: No matter how well I play, there is always room to improve.
Q: What have you learned during this unique time in 2020? What did you focus on or accomplish during Quarantine?
A: I have learned that I am fairly antisocial, meaning that I don’t need people to thrive. During Quarantine, I finished two college classes with A’s, and I focused on improving myself as an athlete by working out on the field and in the weight room.
Q: If you could play in college, what would you choose to major in? What are your plans if football doesn’t work out?
A: I would choose to major in engineering. If football does not workout, I plan on being an engineer.
Q: What would your current teammates say about you and your qualities?
A: My teammates would say that I am extremely hardworking and competitive. They would also say that I tend to be straightforward.
Q: What has been one of the most memorable plays of your career so far?
A: A catch for 75 yards in my freshman year.
Q: What has been your biggest challenge and how do you manage it?
A: My biggest challenge has been fear of failure. I manage that fear by working hard and trying to have fun whenever I play instead of being nervous.
Q: If you could compare yourself to a collegiate or pro athlete, who would that be and why?
A: I would compare myself to Evan Engram and Zach Ertz. I compare myself to Engram because like him, I am a faster TE who can create good matchups against both corners and linebackers. I compare myself to Ertz because I am a skilled blocker who isn’t afraid to go up and put my body on the line for a catch.
Q: What is your biggest strength and why should college coaches & scouts consider you?
A: My size, physicality, and work ethic.
Q: Are you involved in mentoring, a charity or do you “give back”/”pay it forward” in your community?
A: I mentor a freshman football player. I also lead lifting for players of my class, and teach younger players good technique. I also support disabled veteran programs.
Q: How are you preparing for the 2020 High School National Scouting Combine and what are your goals for the combine?
A: I am preparing by working out every day to ensure that I am in the best shape possible. I am also preparing by running routes with QB’s and by training with Coach Miles, the WR coach at North West High School.
Q: What would be your ultimate achievement?
A: Starting for a division 1 football program.
Q: What do you enjoy doing when not playing football? Do you play other sports?
A: I enjoy weightlifting, playing video games, and hanging out with my friends. I wrestle for my High School as well.
Q: Who is or has been the most influential person in your life?
A: My parents.
Q: What is something unique about you that people would find interesting?
A: I am really interested in football equipment. I could list off every cleat and glove most companies make.
