How’d you end up at your current school? What was the recruiting process like?

Before Butler, I was at Nichols College (a small D3 school in Massachusetts) playing football for my father HC Dale Olmsted. After having 2 years of eligibility left, I decided to jump into the transfer portal. I got in contact with Alex Barr (offensive line coach at Butler) and got flown out for an OV. After meeting the staff, viewing the facilities, and learning about the MBA program, I knew it was the right fit.

What gives you an advantage over other athletes at your position?

Butler enhanced my understanding of the game and how we prepared for our opponents. As a center, I served as the leader of the offensive line, responsible for identifying the “mike,” the defensive front, linebacker alignments, and pass protection schemes. My comprehensive knowledge of the game is what gives me an edge.

What does being a student of a game mean to you?

Being a student of the game means constantly learning, adapting, and improving both from your successes and your mistakes. It’s about being coachable, open to feedback, and willing to put in the effort to grow. When you combine that mindset with teamwork and a commitment to playing as a unit, you give yourself and your team the best chance to succeed and win games.

How does being a (Center) reflect itself in your personal life?

Being a center is more than just playing football—it’s about leadership, resilience, and adaptability. As a center, you have to lead through both successes and challenges, overcome obstacles like defensive schemes, and prepare for any situation, no matter how tough. Similarly, in life, I’ve faced many challenging moments, but I’ve always approached them with the same mindset: staying ready for both the good and the bad and pushing forward no matter what comes my way.

How would you describe your work ethic?

My work ethic is built on perseverance, discipline, and a relentless drive to improve. When I started college, I was 6’1” and 250 pounds with a max bench press of 190, far from where I needed to be. Now, I’m 6’2”, 300 pounds, and have pushed my max bench to 345. That physical transformation reflects my dedication to the grind. Mentally, I wasn’t highly recruited, didn’t have many offers, and wasn’t ranked coming out of high school. But in my heart, I knew I would push myself to become an all-conference player at a Division I program. My journey is a testament to my determination to succeed, no matter the odds.

What do you consider to be one of the more important things you learned from the coaching staff?

One of the most important lessons I learned from the coaching staff is to value every player on the team, regardless of their role or skill level. Everyone contributes to the success of the team, whether they’re the best player or the one working behind the scenes. While I’ve gained valuable knowledge about defensive schemes and the intricacies of the game, the principle of recognizing each person’s worth is something I’ll carry with me far beyond football. It’s a reminder that fostering a sense of belonging and purpose is essential in building a successful team, on and off the field.

What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your sports career so far? Being an All-conference player for Butler University

How did you hear about the National Scouting Combine?

I was reached out to by Trevor Frencic SR.

Why did you choose the National Scouting Combine?

I chose the National Scouting Combine because I’ve always lived by the mindset of having no regrets. While this wasn’t something I initially planned for, when the opportunity presented itself, I knew I had to embrace it and give it everything I’ve got. Taking chances and pushing myself to new heights is how I continue to grow and achieve my goals.

What do you hope to show people at the combine?

My ability to play football and knowledge of the game. I may not be the biggest, fastest or strongest, but you will be able to see what type of player I am when on the field. What was your Major? (Delete if you do not have a collegiate background)

My undergraduate degree is in General Business, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration.

If you could make a positive impact on all of society what would it be and why?

If I could make a positive impact on society, it would be to bring people together and bridge the divides that often separate us. In a world where differences—whether in opinions, backgrounds, or beliefs—can create barriers, I believe in the power of unity and collaboration. By fostering understanding and respect, we can create a culture where people support one another and work toward common goals.

What is something unique about you that people would find interesting?

I live on a homestead with 10 sheep, 3 goats, chickens and ducks.

If you had the opportunity to play another sport professionally, what sport would you choose?

Baseball

Are you involved in mentoring, a charity or do you “give back” or “pay it forward” in your community?

Not currently, but something I want to get into.
