Defensive M.V.P 2023 National Scouting Combine. All American Honors. I earned First Team All Conference, and was ranked 1st in the nation in forced fumbles for NAIA with 6. I finished the season with 117 tackles which was 1st in the Heart of America conference , 10 plus TFL’s, 3 sacks.

How’d you end up at your current school? What was the recruiting process like? 

Upon completing my Bachelor’s degree in Communications at Mizzou, I found myself at a crossroads. Central Methodist University emerged as a guiding light, awarding me a scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree in athletic administration. It was at Central that I discovered a sense of belonging that transcended mere friendship – I found a family. The university’s unwavering support altered the course of my life. The bonds forged with fellow students, faculty, and staff have imbued my experience with an unparalleled richness. Central Methodist University has not only provided me with an education; it has gifted me with an invaluable sense of belonging and purpose, forever altering the trajectory of my life. For this, I am eternally grateful.

What gives you an advantage over other athletes at your position?

As an athletic sideline-to-sideline linebacker who is very physical at the point of attack, I am an intensely driven and dedicated individual, always striving to excel in every aspect of my endeavors. Whether it’s arriving early to practice to focus my mind, fostering strong connections with my teammates, or showcasing my athleticism, I am committed to going above and beyond. From a young age, I’ve embraced hard work and overcoming challenges, steadfast in my pursuit of reaching my highest potential.

What does being a student of a game mean to you?

As a linebacker, being a student of the game means constantly seeking to deepen my understanding of the sport. It involves studying film to analyze opponents’ tendencies, recognizing formations, and understanding the nuances of the game. It also means staying informed about rule changes, new strategies, and innovations in training and conditioning. Being a student of the game allows me to anticipate plays, make split-second decisions, and react effectively on the field. It’s about striving for a comprehensive knowledge of the game that goes beyond physical ability, so that I can contribute to my team’s success through intelligence, preparation, and awareness.

How does being a (linebacker ) reflect itself in your personal life?

Being a linebacker can reflect in your life in numerous ways, shaping your character and influencing your approach to various aspects of life. The leadership role you play on the field can translate into developing strong leadership qualities off the field, such as decision-making, motivation, and taking responsibility. The discipline required to execute your role effectively as a linebacker can extend to your personal and professional life, helping you stay focused on your goals and maintain good habits.

Furthermore, as a linebacker, you understand the value of teamwork and collaboration. The ability to work closely with teammates to achieve common goals can help you build strong relationships and effective teamwork skills outside of football. This experience can be particularly beneficial in professional settings where working with others toward a common objective is essential.

How would you describe your work ethic?

As a linebacker, my work ethic is the cornerstone of my success on and off the field. Every day, I rise before the sun to hit the gym and work on my strength and conditioning. I know that my performance on game day is directly linked to the effort I put in during practice and training.

As the captain I approach each workout with a relentless determination to push my limits and improve my skills. Whether it’s tackling drills, agility exercises, or film study, I give 100% of my focus and effort. I understand the importance of honing my technique and understanding the nuances of the game.

Off the field, I maintain a disciplined lifestyle, prioritizing rest, nutrition, and recovery to ensure that my body is always ready for the physical demands of the game. I am constantly seeking ways to improve, whether it’s through studying game tape, seeking feedback from coaches, or learning from veteran players.

My dedication extends beyond the physical aspects of the game. I am committed to being a leader on the team, setting an example for my teammates through my work ethic and dedication. I take pride in being someone they can rely on, both on and off the field.

What do you consider to be one of the more important things you learned from the coaching staff?

From my old school coaches, I’ve learned the importance of discipline, mental toughness, and mastering the fundamentals. Their emphasis on maintaining a disciplined lifestyle and developing mental resilience has shaped me into a more focused and determined linebacker. Additionally, their prioritization of fundamental skills and techniques has been instrumental in refining my performance on the field. Moreover, I’ve absorbed valuable lessons on teamwork, leadership, and respect for the game, all of which have not only improved my individual play but also contributed to the overall success of the team.

What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your sports career so far?

As an All-American football player, my biggest accomplishment goes beyond personal accolades. It’s about demonstrating to my little brother the incredible achievements that are possible through focus and dedication. By earning recognition as one of the top players in the country, I aim to show him that with hard work and perseverance, remarkable goals can be attained. Additionally, I strive to lead by example on and off the field, illustrating the importance of teamwork, leadership, and making a positive impact in the community. Ultimately, I want to inspire my little brother and other aspiring athletes, showing them the possibilities that await when one commits wholeheartedly to their passion.

How did you hear about the National Scouting Combine?

I actually attended the event last year as draft eligible and won Defensive MVP but now returning as a free agent seeking to take my career to the next level and earn my first pro contract.

From the moment I stepped into the National Scouting Combine, I felt an overwhelming sense of support and dedication from the staff. They have been with me every step of the way, working tirelessly to help me elevate my game to the next level. The facilities they provide are truly top-notch, offering the ideal environment for accurate testing and assessment. Their commitment to accuracy ensures that I have the best opportunity to showcase my skills and potential, and I am grateful for the chance to prove myself on such a professional and reputable platform.

What do you hope to show people at the combine?

As a free agent linebacker attending a combine, I am focused on showcasing my talents and abilities to potential teams. I aim to demonstrate my top-tier athleticism, agility, speed, and strength, highlighting my physical capabilities. Additionally, I want to exhibit my football intelligence, leadership skills, and competitive spirit to show that I am a well-rounded and impactful player. My goal is to impress teams with my talents and prove that I have what it takes to contribute at the professional level.

What was your Major?

As a student pursuing a Master’s degree in Athletic Administration, I am focused on acquiring a comprehensive understanding of sports management, including areas such as sports marketing, finance, facility management, and legal and ethical considerations within the sports industry. This program also prepares me to pursue career opportunities such as becoming an athletic director, where I can apply my knowledge and skills to effectively lead and manage athletic programs and organizations.

If you could make a positive impact on all of society what would it be and why?

As a role model for the younger generation, I have the opportunity to make a positive impact on society by inspiring and guiding them toward realizing their full potential. By demonstrating perseverance, integrity, and a strong work ethic, I can instill these values in young minds, empowering them to overcome challenges and pursue their dreams. Through mentorship and encouragement, I can help shape the next generation of leaders, instilling in them a sense of responsibility, compassion, and a desire to contribute positively to society. By fostering a spirit of ambition and resilience, I aim to inspire young individuals to aim high, believe in themselves, and make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world at large.

 

What is something unique about you that people would find interesting?

During my elementary school years, I won the Missouri Chess Championship, a triumph that was the result of dedicated hard work and a passion for the game. This experience taught me valuable lessons in perseverance and the power of commitment, inspiring me to pursue excellence in all my endeavors.

If you had the opportunity to play another sport professionally, what sport would you choose?

Baseball! It played a huge factor in my life growing up and my grandfather loved the game.

Are you involved in mentoring, a charity or do you “give back” or “pay it forward” in your community?

Here in Missouri, I have the privilege of coaching youth football players, imparting to them the art of agility and change of direction. It’s not just about training; it’s about sculpting young athletes into agile, dynamic performers on the gridiron. With passion and dedication, I guide them through techniques that enhance their speed, reflexes, and precision, instilling in them the tools they need to dominate the field. Through this work, I aim to shape the next generation of agile, unstoppable football stars, igniting their potential and fueling their passion for the game.
