Former NFL Pro Bowlers Todd Washington and Shayne Graham to Coach Opposing Sides in 2026 National Scouting Combine All-Star Showcase Game

The 2026 National Scouting Combine will feature one of the most compelling storylines of the week when longtime NFL veterans Todd Washington and Shayne Graham face off as opposing head coaches in the National Scouting Combine All-Star Showcase Game on January 8, 2026.

The game will kick off at 6:00 PM inside the main stadium at Paradise Coast Sports Complex in Naples, Florida — the home of FC Naples — which transforms into a premier football venue during National Scouting Combine week.

A Shared History That Runs Deep

Washington, Graham, and Jimmy Kibble, Founder and CEO of the National Scouting Combine, all share a unique bond that dates back to their playing days at Virginia Tech in the mid-to-late 1990s.

Todd Washington, two years older, moved on first, while Graham and Kibble followed shortly after — each forging their own path at the highest levels of the game. Adding another layer to the story, Washington is from Accomack County, while Graham hails from Pulaski County, with both coming from rival high school programs in the state of Virginia.

That shared background now comes full circle under the lights in Naples.

Proven NFL Pedigree on Both Sides

Todd Washington brings a rare blend of championship experience, professional longevity, and elite coaching pedigree to the 2026 National Scouting Combine. A former NFL offensive lineman, Washington played eight seasons in the league, including stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Houston Texans, and Cleveland Browns. His career includes two Super Bowl championships, reflecting both individual excellence and success on football’s biggest stage.

Following his playing career, Washington transitioned into coaching through persistence, growth, and hard-earned opportunity, building a respected résumé across both professional and collegiate football. His coaching experience includes roles with the University of San Diego, Hartford Colonials, Baltimore Ravens — where he was part of the Super Bowl XLVII championship staff — as well as the Orlando Apollos, DC Defenders, New York Jets, and Jacksonville Jaguars. Known for his attention to detail and ability to develop offensive linemen through fundamentals, discipline, and accountability, Washington now brings that same standard to the National Scouting Combine’s athlete evaluation and development process.

Shayne Graham stands as one of the most respected specialists of his era, carving out a 15-year NFL career defined by consistency, durability, and performance under pressure. After going undrafted, Graham emerged as one of the league’s most reliable kickers, most notably with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he earned Pro Bowl honors and set multiple franchise records.

Over the course of his career, Graham converted 277 of 324 field goal attempts (85.5%) and 429 of 435 extra points, totaling 1,260 career points — a testament to his longevity and precision at the professional level. Since retiring, Graham has transitioned into coaching and mentorship, founding Elite Winning Solutions, where he focuses on specialist development, mental preparation, and performance consistency. That same approach now carries over to his role with the National Scouting Combine, where he works directly with athletes preparing for the next step in their football careers.

Coaches’ Perspective

For Graham, the opportunity represents both competition and purpose:

“It’s an honor to be able to be involved in this event, not only with a great staff overall, but coaching against one of my former teammates. Not only will it be a fun challenge, but we will also be directly involved in the potential development and evaluation of some of tomorrow’s potential legends. I really look forward to the opportunity to do my part and help anyway I can, and look forward to seeing Todd across the sidelines.”

Washington echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the full-circle nature of the moment:

“Coaching against Shayne in the All-Star Showcase is a full-circle moment for both of us. We’ve shared a lot of football together, and now we get to compete while helping these young athletes shine. I’m fired up to lead a group that’s ready to prove themselves and grateful for the chance to give these young men a real opportunity to grow and show who they can become.

The National Scouting Combine is also still accepting registrations for its January 6–9, 2026 event in Naples for draft-eligible athletes and free agents. However, availability is limited. The Combine follows NFL evaluation standards, remains invite-only, and continues to operate as one of the premier scouting events in the country — meaning time is running out for athletes looking to secure their opportunity on a national stage.
