How’d you end up at your current school? What was the recruiting process like?

I chose to come to UWO, because I fell in love with the culture that the coaches had built here. From the beginning of the recruiting process I felt like this was a special place, and could be a home for me. I had been recruited by some other schools, but I felt like the right place for me was at UWO.

What gives you an advantage over other athletes at your position?

I believe that my mindset is what separates me from other great players and other great quarterbacks. I am a person that wants to be the one making the decisions in the big moments. Another component of my mindset is my willingness to do whatever it takes to ultimately win a football game. This includes my work ethic. I am someone who works as hard as they possibly can to become the best player and person I can be. This includes offseason training, along with film study on myself and upcoming opponents. I want to do as much work as possible to put myself and my team in the best possible position to be successful.

What does being a student of a game mean to you?

Being a student of the game means actively pursuing ways to continue to learn more about the game, and ways to improve. I am a student of the game. Being a football coaches son, I have been around the sport my entire life. I love this game more than anything, and I am always looking for ways to improve my skills and football IQ. This includes offseason studying of myself, along with the strategies defenses were using to try and stop us as an offense. This also includes studying the opposing defense we are going up against this week. I love watching what other teams are trying to do defensively to try and stop offenses. I believe that studying the opposing defense can and will provide answers of where to go with the ball in certain situations.

How does being a Quarterback reflect itself in your personal life?

I believe that the type of player you are does reflect to your personal life. Being a quarterback I believe that you have to be authentically yourself, because having the privilege of playing the position of quarterback it also comes with leadership. I carry that type of mindset to my personal life. I have an ability to communicate with people in an effective way. I seek opportunities to get to know people and learn more about them. I believe who you are in one place, is going to reflect itself into other places of your life.

How would you describe your work ethic?

I believe in my work ethic. My work ethic stems from my mentality. I have a mentality of a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job at hand done. I carry this to whether it is studying film, learning the playbook, meetings, the weight room, the practice field, and ultimately on the field in a game.

What do you consider to be one of the more important things you learned from the coaching staff?

I believe that one of the biggest things I have learned from my coaches over the years is to keep an even head. Being a quarterback I have to keep my head in the right place to be able to make the correct decisions on the field. I am the person everyone on the offense is coming to for answers and I have to be able to keep my cool, while also being myself and letting my personality out.

What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your sports career so far?

I believe my biggest sports accomplishment came in my freshman season at UWO. We lost a few games early in that season, but we came together as team to go on a run to win out and beat the #2 ranked team in the country in the last game of season to win conference. That’s one of the most beautiful aspects about football, you never know when it is going to be your chance to go on a run, and you have be ready to seize those opportunities when they come.

How did you hear about the National Scouting Combine?

I was invited to the combine and saw some social media posts about it.

I believe that this is an awesome opportunity to show what I’m about, and the skills I have.

What do you hope to show people at the combine?

I want to show people that I have an ability to play quarterback at the professional level. I am also looking forward to the opportunity to get to know and learn from some great players and coaches. I have the mentality that I am going to be playing quarterback professionally somewhere next year, and that’s how I am preparing.

What was your Major?

Physical education

If you could make a positive impact on all of society what would it be and why?

My positive impact on the world would be to provide everyone with the mindset to look at things in a positive light. I believe a lot of good can come from people simply being more positive.

What is something unique about you that people would find interesting?

I am from a town with a population of just over 500 people.

If you had the opportunity to play another sport professionally, what sport would you choose?

Basketball.
