How’d you end up at your current school? What was the recruiting process like? 

I transferred to central state from the university of saint francis (NAIA). The recruiting process was hard. I went months without an offer, no coaches contacting me at all. Central State decided to take a chance on me and it has been home for me.

 

What gives you an advantage over other athletes at your position?

I think my advantage is how versatile I am, I can play center, guard, and tackle making me for valuable than anybody else.

 

What does being a student of a game mean to you?

Being the student of the game is being able to learn from others to perfect your game and add to your craft.

 

How does being a (insert your position) reflect itself in your personal life?

I think that playing center reflects on the way the I lead in my life. To play center you have to be able to lead a group of people and make sure that everyone is on the same page.

 

How would you describe your work ethic?

I’m always looking to get better, looking for ways to improve my game and taking everyday as an opportunity to improve so I would describe my work ethic as continuous improvement.

 

What do you consider to be one of the more important things you learned from the coaching staff?

One of the most important things that I learned from the coaching staff was to trust the process and believe in myself.

 

What would you consider to be your biggest accomplishment in your sports career so far?

My biggest accomplishment was being to play on national tv in front of all of friends and family. It felt like it was a dream come true getting to have my people back home watch me play.

The National Scouting Combine contacted me on twitter.

 

Why did you choose the National Scouting Combine?

I felt like this was an opportunity to get myself on a platform and showcase what I can do.

 

What do you hope to show people at the combine?

I hope to show people that even though I came for a small HBCU I can still compete with anybody in the world.

Exercise science

 

If you could make a positive impact on all of society what would it be and why?

If I could make an positive impact on all of society I would promote social injustice, I would address systemic injustices and work towards creating a fairer and equal world for everything.

 

What is something unique about you that people would find interesting?

I think something unique that people would find interesting is how passionate I am.

 

If you had the opportunity to play another sport professionally, what sport would you choose?

If I had the opportunity to play another sport I would play rugby.

 

Are you involved in mentoring, a charity or do you “give back” or “pay it forward” in your community?

I coach at a local high school in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is my way of giving back to the community is being able to help kids get in a better position to live their dreams and further their education.
